Bing SEO
Bing is here and there’s a buzz among the SEOs to counter the latest search engine from Microsoft and shuffle some “Bing SEO” across. The search engine looks more of a decision engine so the SEO for Bing has to be different. Considering that the Bing could be ideal and more suitable for the online shoppers looking to reach a final decision to make a purchase, SEO for Bing could actually catch up some fire on that fact. The initial analysis of the Bing showed following results as per my observations and understanding:
URLs are important
URLs are important to any search engine, but Microsoft and Yahoo tend to give an “extended” importance to the URLs. Using the search terms in URLs could give you a big bonus if you’re looking for Bing SEO.
Wikipedia gets the Love
The longstanding love affair between Google and Wikipedia is hidden to none, now the Wikipedia charm comes to Bing as well as the encyclopedia website gets top search rankings for most of generic keywords. So, all you collaborative information sharers get involved.
Categorized Results
Being a Decision Engine, Bing categorizes the search terms and tries to show the relevant results. Core categories are:
- Shopping – Bing could be shoppers’ delight with its payback option and customized results that help shoppers decide the best product offering for themselves.
- Health – Latest buzz around the EHR followed by the Obama’s Stimulus package seems to have caught the eye of big giants and Bing is no different.
- Travel – Hottest of searches are for locations, fares, destinations, tickets and so on… Bing categorizes travel results with tickets, hotels and destinations.
- Local – Where are you on the plant? Bing has featured the Google’s flagship “local” feature into the search engine, here’s the query string doing a “local”:
- Bing.com/local/Default.aspx?what=pizza&where=Madison%20Inidana
Back links galore
Incoming links do get the value here, irrespective of the linking anchor text. However the nofollow flag is intact so better to get the link building services rather than relying on free comment spam links.
What’s missing? BingMeter!
And a toolbar! Realizing the amount of fuss the Google’s PageRank has generated, it would be great for Bing to add the link recognition BingMeter to its artillery and get the crowd weave around it. More visible features you return as a Search Engine, the more people you get involved in.
What to expect?
Although just launched, Bing has got all the due attention it (didn’t) deserve(d). It has already bypassed the Yahoo users and is expected to rise up further to secure the official number 2 spot in search engines. So the Bing SEO is next big thing one should expect and lots of SEOs are expected to join the club with specializing the SEO for Bing.

i have been evaluating the search results of Microsoft Bing compared to Google and they are comparable. Bing gives almost the same relevant search results just like Google.

Bing search engine gives almost the same search results as Google. Looks like Google will now have a tough competition when it comes to search engine technology.

i have been using the BING search engine for a couple of weeks. Bing seems to be as good as Google but for some reason i would still want to stick with Google search engine ,-
